School of Wine's Weekend Wine Series

These hour-long wine-only classes are held Saturdays, (schedule at left,) sign in at 5:45, classes starting at 6:00 p.m., at the Silver Baron Lodge in lower Deer Valley. The topics vary each week and are selected by our professors. During each class we taste five wines, (plus one bonus blind tasting) each under $30 per bottle, studying many aspects of the wine including growing region, grape characteristics, wine labels, and vocabulary. Student participation is highly encouraged. At the end of the class, the students grade the wines and learn pricing and critics’ ratings, if any. Classes are $25 per person for what locals call, "educational happy hour!"

Chris Hayman is a painter from Northern California, her abstract paintings are thickly layered with oil paint; her flowing compositions deliver great energy and balance. In this new body of work “Composition of Elements”, she involves various gestural forms along with a variety of abstract languages. She is influenced by the elements and energy of her local landscape which enter the paintings in an intuitive way. Join us for the opening reception on July 29, 6-8PM.

Robyn Cage’s expressive voice and impassioned live performances have captivated audiences from Boston’s Symphony Hall to the stages of NYC. A professional actress, trained at the Boston Conservatory and praised by The New York Times and Variety, Robyn turned to songwriting in 2009 and recorded her “Raining Sideways” EP with producer Alex Houton. In 2014 Robyn teamed up with two time Grammy-nominated producer Darryl Neudorf (Neko Case, Sarah McLachlan) to record “Burning Now”, then headed to L.A. to make a soon-to-be-released record with Grammy-nominated and Juno Award-winning producer Dan Burns (Carina Round, Early Winters). Robyn relocated from NYC to her mountain home in Park City- her music is a synthesis of New York's culture and Utah's desert wilderness. New album "Born In The Desert" coming in 2015!
