Pottery! 6 Week Wheel Throwing Course
12 – 3pm
Location: 1241 Center Drive Suite #L180, New Park

All sessions are 6 weeks & include 1 25-lb bag of clay and 8 hours of Open Studio Time each week during the class session to practice, create & play dirty! Adults / children 10+ considered / All levels
Students will be introduced to the potter’s wheel where they will learn the fundamental techniques of making pottery. Instructor will provide weekly discussions and demos for students, and assist with projects to develop skills for throwing: wedging, centering, pulling a wall. Some class projects will include making cups, mugs, bowls, and vases.

Gary Lewis & the Playboys were an American 1960s era pop and rock group, fronted by musician Gary Lewis, the son of comedian Jerry Lewis. They are best known for their 1965 Billboard Hot 100 number-one single "This Diamond Ring", which was the first of a string of hit singles they had in 1965 and 1966. The band had an earnest, boy-next-door image similar to British invasioncontemporaries such as Herman's Hermits and Gerry and the Pacemakers. The group folded in 1970, but a version of the band later resumed touring and continues to tour, often playing for veteran's benefits.[1]

Like it or not, we all live in a variety of communities—work, school, neighborhood, sports and others. Though we all have strong urges to be independent, the reality is we have to depend on each other and learn to get along if we are to have the best possible life. So the question is not will I live in community, but will I live well in community. For six weeks, we will discover what God had in mind when He designed community and how life goes better as we learn to live together in a way that is mutually beneficial. It’s never too late to get it right, and perhaps there is nothing more important to get right at our present moment in history, then how to live “better together” as we learn to live well in community. Join us September 11-October 16 as we discover what community is, how it can work and just how much better together we can be!
