There are a lot of stories on how Park City got it's name. According to my research in 1871 George and Rhonda Snyder (she was wife #6) broke through the forest by what is now 'The Yarrow Hotel,' right there on Kearns Blvd. When George saw the beautiful area in front of him, he exclaimed.."It looks like a park." Thus the name Park City. There is a bell monument right at the back entrance to the Yarrow Hotel off Kearns commemorating this event.

I am Diania Turner and was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Though I will always love Texas, my heart is in Utah where I have lived for over almost 50 years. In all of Utah, I love Park City the most because of its rich pioneer history, amazing locals and their wonderful live and let live attitude. Acceptance and a friendly attitude is what Park City offers and what I love.
