Buzz — that ever-elusive quality that turns a movie into something that draws audiences, attention and big distribution deals — comes in two forms: prefabricated and authentic.
The prefabricated stuff is the fool's gold manufactured by publicists, journalists (ahem) and festival watchers, based on the pedigrees of the filmmakers and a lot of guesswork. The authentic stuff grows naturally in Park City, nourished by conversations on the shuttle buses and theater queues by people who have actually seen the movies.
So the following list of buzzworthy titles from the 2016 Sundance Film Festival can be taken with a grain of salt, because it's all a crapshoot until the screenings start up on Thursday night. For what it's worth, here's what looks
