The Sundance Institute announced the films selected for the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
Among the 16 movies chosen for the US Dramatic Competition is Michael Larnell’s Roxanne Roxanne.
The biopic portrays the story of Queensbridge representative and Hip Hop legend Lolita “Roxanne Shanté” Gooden.
Roxanne Shanté rose to prominence as a teenager partly due to the 1980’s “Roxanne Wars” rivalry between the Juice Crew member and The Real Roxanne.
